Breaking News: The State of North Carolina issues $5M grant to Town of Highlands to aid in saving Mirror Lake.
Located in one of the oldest areas of Highlands, North Carolina, Mirror Lake is a beautiful landmark known for its peaceful canoeing, glowing sunrises and sunsets over the lake, and some of the oldest homes in the area lining its shores. Decades of sediment accumulation have jeopardized the water quality of the lake and its future. Some areas are no longer deep enough for canoes. Dredging is necessary to restore Mirror Lake to once again be a place to swim, fish, or paddle your canoe…ensuring the Highlands community can enjoy the beauty of the lake for years to come.
